Proverbs 22:21

That I might make thee know the certainty of the words of truth; that thou mightest answer the words of truth to them that send unto thee?

Truth is absolute. It is not relative, open to discussion, a matter of opinion, subject to interpretation, or personal preference. Truth is a settled fact. It does not change with time, move with trends, or recognize different cultures or circumstances. Truth is not found by sensitivity sessions, public opinion polls, political debates, or educational symposiums.

Truth is the sovereign choice, declaration, or command of Jehovah regarding any subject.

Why did Solomon write Proverbs (Pr 22:20)? To make his reader know the certainty of the words of truth, so he could teach them to others! Why did God give the Bible? For the very same reasons (Mal 2:7-9; II Tim 3:16-17)! Absolute truth is here. Truth is objective, identifiable, and communicable. It may be studied, learned, and repeated to others.

Man is confused, because his heart is desperately and deceitfully perverse (Jer 17:9-10; Rom 3:9-18). Since he rejected the truth revealed by creation, God removed his ability to recognize the obvious (Rom 1:18-32; Is 44:20). Therefore, man creates his own rules of right and wrong to justify and defend his base lusts (Ps 36:1-2; Luke 16:15; Eph 4:17-19).

This generation is the most confused of all. Compulsory education and various audio, print, and video media force the whole world to hear the depravity of arrogant thinkers, who show human depravity at new depths. God has cursed man’s educational efforts, and His curse is evident in the chaos of current thinking (I Cor 1:19-20; 3:19-20; I Tim 6:20).

The home-educated farmer, who knew God from his Bible and worked with creation each day, has been exchanged for a millennial, educated by evolutionary, socialistic God-haters and entertained by whoremongering, anarchic fools. America is reaching the tail end (literally) of a social experiment bringing total moral confusion and depravity. They call adultery an affair, sodomy gay, fornication partying, and bratty children ADHD.

Man is more confused today than his imagined caveman ancestors. He thinks he came from a monkey, mates with any filly like a horse, eats like a pig, kills unborn children like an ostrich, repeats what he is taught like a parrot, laughs at idiotic comedies like a hyena, struts to music like a chicken, and dances like a baboon. He rejects corporal and capital punishment, while aborting babies and watching, Texas Chainsaw Massacre. He ridicules hard-line Bible preachers, while castigating anyone even questioning evolution.

But there is absolute truth in the universe, and these confused animals just described will never find any of it. Solomon had it, and he gave it to his son and readers. The Bible is truth, and anyone willing to tremble before it and its Author will find perfect knowledge and understanding. Truth does exist; it should be taught; it must be defended.

Jesus said, “Thy word is truth” (John 17:17). Peter said the Bible was more sure than God’s voice from heaven (II Pet 1:16-21). Isaiah wrote that any idea contrary to Scripture proved total darkness (Is 8:20). David exalted God’s word on all subjects, and he hated any differing opinion (Ps 119:128). Paul said the world’s science was not true science and all things could and should be proven as good or bad (I Tim 6:20; I Thess 5:21).

Because natural man is a slave of the devil, who is the father of lies, they have no interest in truth (John 8:44-45). Jesus knew he could have gathered larger crowds with lies. But He is the Truth, so He presented truth with such authority and clarity that the people were astonished at His superiority to their effeminate and ignorant teachers (Matt 7:28-29).

The apostles did not preach fables. They brought absolute truth, known as the faith of God’s elect (Luke 1:1-4; Titus 1:1). They rejected eloquence to keep worldlings from understanding or believing it for its presentation (I Cor 2:1-5). They were eyewitnesses of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who proved His resurrection with many infallible proofs (Acts 1:3,22; I Cor 15:3-8). They taught this fact and the whole Bible as absolute truth.

Adultery is an offence worthy of death, and so is sodomy, but the latter is an unnatural perversion. Abortion is child murder, and ADHD can be easily solved by restoration of spanking. One man and one woman in marriage is the only basis for sex and the fundamental unit of society. Women are to obey and reverence their husbands, and they are not allowed to speak in church. These facts and thousands more like them are absolute truth, for they are declarations and commands of the sovereign LORD God.

Every word of God is pure (Pr 30:5). The only wholesome words in the world are those of Jesus Christ (I Tim 6:3). Every reader should know how to give answers of truth to those who might ask (I Pet 3:15), and it is the duty of true saints to earnestly contend for the faith – the absolute truth – once delivered to the saints (Jude 1:3). Opinions of all men – saved or unsaved – are worthless. You must give Bible answers for all questions.

God seeks true worshippers, who will worship Him in spirit and in truth (John 4:23-24). There is nothing left to debate, to discuss, to invent, or to modify. He has revealed His perfect will for man to know and do, and to this revelation you must seek with all your heart (Deut 4:5-10; 6:24-25; 29:29; 32:46-47). Anyone speaking otherwise should be rejected from your company and church (Pr 9:6; 14:7; Deut 13:6-18; Ps 101:3; Rom 16:17-18; Eph 5:11; II Thess 2:15; 3:6,14; I Tim 6:3-5; II Tim 3:1-5; Titus 3:10-11).

Seek Bible answers for all your questions, and settle for nothing less. Exalt God’s revealed precepts, and hate every false way (Ps 119:128). The opinions of any man or all men amount to the same – confusion. Give Bible answers for any questions from others. Let your words be the certain words of truth. Earnestly defend the truth at all times.
