America observed the 25th anniversary of the terrorist attack of 9/11 that took 2,977 lives. Yet America's history includes far worse events and so does world and Bible history. This short sermon is about much greater wrath coming that exceeds the imagination, but Jesus has saved His elect.

Jesus appealed to a tower falling in Siloam that killed 18 as an event the Jews knew about.

The proper preaching of the gospel includes God’s wrath, as Paul did in opening Romans.
His wrath is presently visible by what He has done giving some over to a reprobate mind.
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
Romans 1:16-19
His greater wrath is coming in a day coming when He shall judge all men by Jesus Christ.
The wrath of God is accumulating and increasing for the total destruction of the universe.
3 And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?
4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?
5 But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;
6 Who will render to every man according to his deeds:
Romans 2:3-6
Wrath is coming like you have never imagined to destroy the universe for eternal torment.
America’s vulnerability in 2001 was a “failure of imagination” to think such could happen.
Our leaders could not imagine such audacity, ability, commitment, planning, effort, etc.
We have the word of God that tell us of His past wrath, present wrath, and wrath to come.
He has infinite ability, commitment, purpose, promise, and vengeance for what is coming.
The only “failure of imagination” we can have is to ignore scripture or distract our lives.
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.

We have a Savior, which is Jesus Christ the Lord, who will save us from God’s wrath.
9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
Romans 5:9-10
9 For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God;
10 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.
I Thessalonians 1:9-10
9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
10 Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.

We want to clearly discern what His death did for us … it saved us from the wrath of God.
Communion is our opportunity to remember and honor the Savior we heard about all day.
We know He died in our place to pay for our sins, but it saved us from eternal vengeance.
God ordained His Son in perfect wisdom to be the Revealer of all hearts … our opportunity.
Give Him your heart by love, appreciation, devotion in spirit … then give Him your life.
Fall before Him in humble repentance and let Him raise you up again in full redemption.
