Luke, the beloved physician, wrote for Gentiles to Theophilus (Luke 1:1-4). He biologically traced Jesus back to His first father Adam through Mary (by her father) through David’s son Nathan, rather than legally through Joseph and Solomon. Thus he identified Jesus as the Seed of the woman to bruise the serpent’s head for our salvation. These things were written for you to know the certainty of the things most surely believed among us.
